Granite has been awarded a contract valued at roughly $65m by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to begin the second phase of the State Road 30 (SR-30) Improvement Project in Logan, Utah, US.聽
The project, which is funded by the UDOT and federal funds, was included in Granite’s second-quarter committed and awarded projects.聽
Granite Regional Operations vice-president Jason Klaumann said: 鈥淭he successful completion of Phase 1 in 2023 positioned us as the low bidder for Phase 2, ensuring our structures, pipe, and earthwork crews will remain engaged through late 2024 and most of the 2025 season.聽聽
鈥淥ur team is excited to continue working with UDOT Region 1 and deliver these critical improvements for the Logan community.鈥�
The SR-30 corridor serves a range of traffic, including the public, agricultural machinery, horses, cyclists, and pedestrians.
The enhancements will include a 12ft-wide multiuse path with a cast-in-place concrete box underpass, wider shoulders, dedicated turning lanes, and advanced warning signs for railroad crossings.聽

This project, with an estimated value of approximately $32m, focuses on replacing two bridges over the Truckee River that are currently considered structurally deficient.聽
